Quality Initiatives HomeHealth Visiting Nurses maintains a comprehensive program for outcome-based quality improvement. Our efforts include participation in the National Outcome Based Quality Improvement Program, collaboration with the Northeast Health Care Quality Foundation and utilization of a comprehensive benchmarking service though Patient Care Technologies. In addition to these efforts, we contract with a national consulting firm to survey our patient satisfaction.
Important Notice on Quality Measures The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a "blackout" period in reporting quality measures for Home Health Compare--a public report that compares quality measures for certified home health agencies.This black out period is triggered by a new assessment process for Medicare patients that started in May 2010 and will continue until Quarter 3 of 2011.CMS is implementing the addition of new process measures that should help home health agencies refine clinical and care protocols in order to achieve the best quality outcomes for patients.Please note that current information on Home Health Compare is outdated; however, it is anticipated that CMS will begin publishing new information in July 2011.
